Synopsis
In Spider-Man® 2, the latest installment in the blockbuster Spider-Man®
series, based on the classic Marvel Comics hero, Tobey Maguire returns as
the mild-mannered Peter Parker, who is juggling the delicate balance of
his dual life as a college student and a superhuman crime fighter.
The entertaining adventure escalates and Spider-Man's
life becomes even more complicated when he confronts a new nemesis, the
brilliant Otto Octavius, (Alfred Molina) who has been reincarnated as the
maniacal and multi-tentacled "Doc Ock."
Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst, Alfred Molina, James Franco, Rosemary Harris,
JK Simmons play stellar roles in this thrilling adventure.
The movie is directed by Sam Raimi, who also directed
the first Spiderman movie. Laura Ziskin is the producer and Avi Arad is
the executive producer of the movie.
On May 3, 2002, Columbia Pictures released Spider-Man internationally. The
movie grossed 114.8 million in its opening weekend, making it the largest
domestic opening of all time. To date, the film has surpassed 800 million
in worldwide box office gross.
Spider-Man is the fifth highest grossing movie in U.S. history.
