Surface: Grass Court
There are 20 grass courts (including Centre   Court
and No 1 Court), 5 red shade courts, 4   clay courts
and 5 indoor courts
Centre Court has 13,120 seats
No 1 Court has 11,000 seats
 Court 2 has 2,220 seats and standing room for about 770
Court 3 has 800 seats
Courts 6 and 7 have 250 seats each
Court 11 has a temporary stand seating 162
Court 13 has two temporary stands seating   1,604
Court 18 has both permanent and temporary   stands seating around 600
Court 19 can accommodate around 300
In addition, there are some 200 benches positioned around the outside courts providing seating for about 1,000
Total seating is around 32,000
Total area is 42 acres
THE WIMBELDON LONG TERM DEVELOPMENT PLAN
The All England Lawn Tennis Club   has evolved a three-phase plan for overall development at the Championships:
Stage 1
New No.1 Court
Two new outside courts, 18 & 19
Broadcast Centre
Tunnel linking Church Road and Somerset Road
Improved landscaping
Stage 2 (operational for 2000 Championships)
Demolish old No.1 Court
Construct new Facilities Building for players, Members, press, officials and ball boys/girls
Extend West Side of Centre Court
Stage 3
  Remodelling of southern courts
