Karol Kucera has withdrawn from Wimbledon with a knee injury, organizers said on Friday.

The Slovakian was scheduled to play Russian Mikhail Youzhny in the first round of the grass-court tournament, which starts on Monday.

Kucera was replaced in the draw by lucky loser Brian Vahaly of the United States, who is ranked 158th.

Kucera, 28, who is ranked 75th, missed Wimbledon last year and reached the second round the year before. His best showing was the fourth round in 1999.
