Sharp-shooter of Bajrangi gang arrested

POLICE ON Friday claimed to have worked out the sensational murder of property dealer Arun Kumar Bansal alias ‘Pummy’ with the arrest of a sharpshooter of the dreaded Munna Bajrangi gang of Purvanchal. Cops  also recovered the foreign-made pistol and bike used in the murder. The arrested man was wanted in several cases of heinous crime.

Briefing mediapersons here on Friday evening, SSP Ashutosh Pandey said the murder was a fallout of friction of the property dealer with his accomplices over the distribution of money. The arrested man Khanna Chauhan, along with Dilip Gaur and Panchu, had killed the property dealer Arun Kumar Bansal in his house on Wednesday.

The slain property dealer had used the three miscreants for taking possession of a vast land in Nevada area recently. He had got Rs 48 lakh for the purpose.

Bansal had assured the miscreants of their share. But, at a later stage, he did not pay them. As a result of which, the three miscreants killed him. It may be mentioned that the arrested man had also killed a trader Raj Kumar Gupta in Bhadohi on October 4, 2006.

Acting on a tip-off, the station officer of Lanka Manoj Pant arrested the assailant from Karaundi area while he was preparing to flee from the city.

Meanwhile, the SSP has ordered formation of a committee led by SO Lanka Manoj Pant to prepare a list of property dealers and their business associates.
