Launching a tirade against CPI(M) for using "muscle, mafia and money power" to stay on to power, the NTC chief said all people could not be fooled all the time. "CPI(M)'s downfall is certain - today or tomorrow," she said.
Banerjee alleged extremist outfits People's War and Kamtapur Liberation Organisation were nothing but "creations of CPI(M)" and used by them to finish NTC.
Dubbing the CPI(M) as a Stalinist party, Banerjee alleged it did not care for democracy.
Asked what steps her party has taken to stop rigging, Banerjee, however, said she would not disclose the plans now.
The NTC supremo also refused to agree that the party lacked organisational prowess and said it was an 'organised propaganda' by a section of the media. "The party is not dependent on me. Our second rung leadership is ready. Eeven the third generation leadership is coming up".
She declined to comment on rebel NTC leader Sudip Bandyopadhyay, now contesting as an independent with Congress support from Calcutta North-West, describing it as her party's internal matter.
Similarly, on another party leader Ajit Panja, who was earlier suspended, she said "it is now over. Our party has decided to give ticket to Panja.
Turning to 'Mahajot' (grand alliance) against the Left, she said Congress was the main hurdle in forming such alliance. "Some Congress leaders had understanding with the Marxists".
To a question if her decision to contest the last assembly polls in alliance with Congress severing ties with BJP was wrong, she replied "it was not my decision alone. The decision was taken by the party".
Banerjee said at that time the Congress had declared that it would go all out in the fight against the CPI (M). Besides, "we also had differences with the state BJP leaders," which had led to the party's decision to join hands with Congress.
The NTC chief refused to agree that she lacked consistency in launching movements on various issues and said "one has to prove it".
Regarding the revised electoral roll, she said her party has not yet received it.
"We will lodge complaint if we find any discrepencies there," she said.
Asked if she did politics only with emotions, she replied "one cannot give up emotions and be totally mechanical. There should be emotions and conscience in politics".
