Lt Gen Jamwal visits military station

LIEUTENANT GENERAL KS Jamwal, AVSM, VSM, the Colonel Commandant of the Regiment of Artillery and Army Aviation, visited the military station Allahabad on February 27 and 28. He was received at Allahabad airport by Maj Gen MS Buttar, General Officer Commanding, Red Eagle Division, and Brig Anil Sharma, Commander of the Artillery Brigade.

Lt Gen Jamwal visited an Artillery unit at New Cantonment and was briefed about the training being carried out in the regiment and other important issues by the Commanding Officer Colonel S Harimohan Iyer. The General expressed satisfaction over the training standards achieved. He also addressed the rank and file in a Sainik Sammelan after meeting the officers and junior commissioned officers of the Regiment.

He expressed appreciation over the achievements of the ‘Gunners’ and high standards set by them in the recently conducted collective training and field firing in the ranges. He called upon the ‘Gunners’ to continue with the good show and live true to their motto of ‘Sarvatra-Izzat-o-Iqbal’.

Mala Jamwal, President of Army Wives’ Welfare Association (AWWA) interacted with the families of soldiers and also attended the family welfare programme organised by the wives of the jawans.

She was impressed by their enthusiasm and by the cultural events put up by them.
