A 20-year-old BA student was allegedly raped by two men on Monday in an area under the jurisdiction of Dankaur police station in Greater Noida.
According to the police, the incident took place in Chachaula village on Monday, the day of Holi, around 1 in the afternoon.
Rajpal Tomar, station house officer (SHO), Dankaur police station, said, “According to the victim’s statement, the youth, who also belong to the same village, abducted her, took her to a secluded place in the village and raped her.”
Tomar said the girl claimed the two threatened her with dire consequences if she told anyone about the incident. However, the victim’s father reported the incident to the police the same evening and the girl was sent for a medical examination, Tomar added.
In her statement to the police, the victim said that the two had tried to smother her.
“They throttled my neck to kill me, but spared me after my pleas. They threatened to kill me if I told anyone about the incident,” the victim said in her statement to the police.
Tomar said both youths also belong to the same village as the victim and are absconding. “We have registered a case under sections 376D (gang rape) and 307 (attempt to murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and are on the lookout for the offenders,” he said.
“Both youths who allegedly raped the girl are aged between 20 and 22,” the SHO added.
