District administration will soon start sending notices to organizations, institutes and hospitals for using footpaths and public property illegally to car vehicles. District magistrate (DM) BN Singh has asked the city magistrate Mahindra Singh to start sending notices.
City magistrate has now asked the traffic police and local police station to prepare a list of educational institutes, malls and other organization that are illegally using the public property for parking despite having their own parking areas.
“In two days, we will start sending notices to all the organizations who are involved in illegal parking. Once we get the list of such places, our procedure will start. There are many institutes in Sector 125 wherein they have been using the space outside their campuses for the parking purpose. Illegal parking leads to unnecessary traffic issues,” said Mahindra Singh, city magistrate.
Through the notices, these organizations will be asked to ensure that spaces used for illegal parking should be vacated within 15 days. Anybody who will fail to act as per the notice, strict action will be taken against them.
These notices will be send under section 133 (Conditional order for removal of nuisance) of the Criminal Procedure Code.
“Even after the notice if any of the outfit will refuse to remove their illegal parking then we can also file an FIR against them. They can also be questioned on why their organization or mall shouldn’t be shut down if they are failing to follow the rules and regulations,” added Singh.
Institutes, including private universities, malls will also be getting notices for occupying public property for parking and causing traffic problems, he added.
Noida authority was also asked by the District Magistrate BN Singh to identify and make list of places where there illegal parking. Around 25 notices will be issues to the owners or heads of organizations and malls, the officials said.
