Alleged Bhati gang shooter Avnesh, alias Anni, who was arrested after a brief encounter on Monday, has been shifted to the trauma centre in Meerut for a surgery. He suffered a bullet injury to his right thigh and was admitted to district hospital in Noida.
Police said that Anni, who is already supposed to be in judicial custody, will be sent to the Aligarh jail after his recovery. A case pertaining to the encounter was registered at Phase-2 police station.
The police said that the investigation team tried to ask him about his links with anti-social elements but cold not get details due to his poor health.
However, it has been revealed that Anni is still in touch with a woman who allegedly supplied him with sedatives, which he used to drug the police while being taken from the Aligarh jail to a hearing in Surajpur on June 17, 2016.
The police said that the woman runs a beauty parlour in Fauji Colony of Kulesara in Gautam Budh Nagar and she will be questioned. As many as 29 criminal cases are registered against Avnesh.
The police said that after his escape from police custody, Anni is suspected to have been involved in extortion and contract killing.
