The authorities of Chhabil Dass Public School (CDPS) are yet to decide on any disciplinary action against three of its students allegedly involved in making hoax bomb calls to the school’s landline number. The fourth student allegedly involved is from another school.
The police on Wednesday said that while they had let off the students with a warning, the school may take any disciplinary action in the matter.
“We have not received any formal information from the police as yet. Once we get it, we will refer the matter to the school authorities who will take a call on the action to be taken against the students,” said A Suganthavalli, principal of the school.
On Tuesday, following the incident, the school authorities had said that they will forward a police complaint and demand strict action against the hoax callers. However, the police said that they did not receive any written complaint from the school.
The four students, aged between 16 and 17 years, were let off by the police from Sihani Gate police station on Wednesday afternoon. The boys, who were handed over to their family members, evaded questions about whether or not they had made the calls.
The parents of the four students did not visit the police station. Their relatives had come to take the children.
“While speaking to the students, we came to know that on previous occasions too they had made prank calls to the school. However, those calls were not serious in nature like the ones that were made on Tuesday morning. The three students also do not have a good academic record. They have been securing 40-50% marks in their class,” said Salman Taj, superintendent of police at Ghaziabad.
