A Class 10 student was allegedly abducted, drugged and raped in a car by a marketing manager of a private hospital on Sunday.
According to the police, the girl was walking to a market when she was dragged into the car by the accused, Rahul Solanki. The girl was later found in an unconscious state in the car.
A medical examination of the victim has confirmed rape and the police said the accused was known to her. Solanki has been arrested, the police said.
The 16-year-old victim, who is a private school student in sector 49, lives with her family in Barola.
According to the police, Solanki also resides in the same neighbourhood.
"The complainant said that the accused offered her a lift in his Maruti Alto but she rejected. On finding a deserted stretch, the accused dragged her inside the car using a handkerchief laced with sedatives," said Rajkumar Mishra, circle officer III.
Mishra added, "He then drove her to a deserted spot near the village and allegedly raped her multiple times in the car. We have arrested Solanki and he has been booked for abduction and rape. He was sent to jail on Monday."
Police sources said that Solanki had also threatened the victim with dire consequences if she talked about the incident.
