The Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) will conduct a cleanliness drive in Indirapuram on August 13 and 14. The campaign will be organised under the Uttar Pradesh government’s ‘Green UP, clean UP’ initiative.

Residents can send pictures of garbage dumps in the area along with the location to WhatsApp number 9540212345 and the waste will be cleaned.

“The drive will be conducted across Indirapuram from 9am to 8pm on August 13 and 14. Apart from this, if residents find any spot that needs to be cleaned, workers will be sent there. We will personally inspect the drive,” said Dayanand Prasad, GDA’s officer on special duty.

Officials of the authority said 16 spots have been selected across Indirapuram for the drive. There will be 50 workers and a GDA junior engineer at each spot. A supervisor from Saya Group builder, that has financed the initiative, will also be present.

Members of Safai Muhim NGO, which comprise residents of Vaishali and Vasundhara, will also take part in the drive.

Vikas Bhasin, managing director of Saya Group, said “We expect participation of around 1,000 people from GDA, Safai Muhim NGO and our company. We are planning to cover entire Indirapuram and areas within 10 km distance.”

“We have taken part in the initiative as it is a noble cause. We have requested the GDA to conduct a similar drive in Vaishali,” said Roy Tapan Bharati, convener, Safai Muhim NGO.

The 16 spots selected for the drive are Ahinsa Khand-2, Jaipuriya Mall in Ahinsa Khand-1, Rail Vihar in Niti Khand-3, Shipra Mall in Vaibhav Khand, Orange County in Ahinsa Khand-1, Kala Pathar Road, Mangal Chowk, Real Anchor Apartments in Shakti Khand-4, One Square in Shakti Khand-4, Shipra Riviera in Gyan Khand-3, Bikanerwala, St Francis School in Abhay Khand-2, Takshshila Apartments in Abhay Khand-2, Gaur Green Apartments in Abhay Khand-4 and Sai Temple in Abhay Khand-4.
