A maid was allegedly slapped by a resident for entering the society premises of Supertech Eco Village in Greater Noida on Tuesday. A case was registered in this regard against one unknown person in Surajpur police station.

According to police, some maids working in the society had staged a protest outside the society demanding hike in their wages. One of the maids working in the residential society, who was not a part of the protest, entered the premises to her work, but was slapped by one of the residents.

“Some maids had staged a protest outside the society allegedly for not getting their salaries on time. No maid was allowed to enter the residential society by the protesters on Tuesday,” said Manish Saxena, station house officer of Surajpur police station.

As per the FIR lodged in Surajpur, the maid, who was not a part of the protest, entered the society for her work, but was slapped by an angry unknown woman of the society.

“The maid said that she was happy with her employer and went to work on Tuesday as usual. As she was in the premises of the society, a woman approached her and asked her the reason for entering the society. All of a sudden the conversation heated up and the resident woman slapped the maid,” Saxena said.

“The lady is not known to her but lived in the same residential society. We will conduct an identification parade and collect CCTV footages of the spot to look into the matter,” the police official said.
