Housekeeping staff commits suicide in Gzb apartment

A 23-year-old man committed suicide at the ATS Advantage apartments in Ahinsa Khand-1, Indirapuram, on Wednesday.

The victim, identified as Vishesh, worked as the housekeeping staff in the same society and lived in a nearby shanty. He was from Hardoi district.

According to the police, Vishesh hanged himself from the grille of the staircase in the apartment complex. No suicide note was recovered.

The police were alerted about the incident around 1 pm. The body was sent for a post-mortem examination.

“The residents who saw the body reported the incident to the maintenance in-charge of the society who then called the police. The body was hanging from the staircase and did not have any external injury marks. No suicide note has been found. We are waiting for the post-mortem report,” said Gorakhnath Yadav, station house officer, Indirapuram police station.

The SHO said a team is investigating the matter. Police officials are looking at the CCTV footage installed on the floor.

There are a total of 23 towers in the society and each tower has 23 floors. There are more than 200 staff workers in the residential complex, including the security staff.
