Since the mysterious death of Himanshi Kashyap at her in-laws’ house at Sanjay Nagar in Ghaziabad on April 6, both her father-in-law and former Rajya Sabha MP Narendra Kashyap and her father Hiralal Kashyap had come to loggerheads in a legal battle.
Surprisingly on Sunday, both Narendra Kashyap and Hiralal were seen together when the former held a prayer meeting for his late daughter-in-law Himanshi at Ghaziabad. Sources said that both families could have reconciled over the incident and may have planned to move forward.
“Both families know each other for 15 to 16 years. During the prayer meeting, Hiralal was present, and he himself said that I am like his ‘guru’ and will never leave me. It seems that both families are moving ahead positively and we hope both families will share the same relations as we had earlier before the incident,” Narendra Kashyap, whose term at the Parliament expired in July, said.
The prayer meeting was held at a residential complex at Meerut Road in Ghaziabad on Sunday. Former MP Kashyap had also sent a statement in which he said that all proceedings of the prayer meeting and statements made by Hiralal were recorded in a CD.
Hiralal Kashyap, a former UP minister, did not respond to repeated attempts to contact him.
Hiralal was vociferous against Narendra Kashyap after his daughter’s mysterious death. She was found dead with a bullet wound on her head. Her father had even levelled murder allegations against the former MP’s family and opposed their bail pleas.
The former MP was released on bail on the directions of Allahabad high court in July. His wife Devendari was later released on bail. However, their son Sagar is yet to get bail.
Following the legal tussle after Himanshi’s mysterious death, the Bahujan Samaj Party leadership had expelled both leaders from the party, citing that their rivalry brought bad name to the party.
Himanshi was found dead in the bathroom of her first floor room and had a bullet wound on her head. Following an FIR by her family, six persons from former MP Kashyap’s family were named and three were arrested.
