A month after the double murder of a businessman’s son and wife in Sector 39 on April 11, police are yet to collect the postmortem report of 50-year-old Rajesh Jolly who allegedly killed them in a manic attack over a suspected financial dispute.

Police said Jolly had received injuries in the head and died at Safdarjung Hospital on April 17. His autopsy report is necessary for them to know the cause of death as his wife has now alleged that Jolly was attacked during the incident.

On April 11, Jolly, armed with two countrymade pistols, 40 cartridges, a surgical knife and a rope, had barged into the residence of Khuranas in Sector 39 and shot dead his business partner’s wife Anju and younger son Ankush. He also allegedly stabbed Khurana, his older son Amit and domestic help Rajinder.

Members of Khurana family had given a statement that Jolly inflicted injuries on himself after the attack. However, Jolly’s wife has been maintaining that his death should be probed, police said.

Sources said Jolly’s wife Meenu Jolly recently gave a statement to the investigating officer that her husband was attacked.

She also told the officer that when she went to the hospital in Delhi to see her husband, doctors there had told her that there was a deep cut in his head and it could not have been self-inflicted.

The hospital administration has been approached for reports and the case has been reopened.

“We will collect the postmortem report to continue with the probe. It is also necessary to know Jolly’s cause of death. Moreover, the cause behind the rivalry which led to the murders has to be ascertained,” said Rakesh Kumar, investigating officer.

The Khurana family has maintained that they had no enmity with Jolly. On the other hand, Jolly’s wife has claimed that her husband received a call after which he left the house and did not return.

Police said the members, who were associated with the case, will be questioned again. From the night of April 11 to the afternoon of April 17, Jolly was admitted to two different hospitals — Kailash in Noida and Safdarjung Hospital in New Delhi. His statement could not be recorded and the cause of dispute is still unknown.
