Noida: FIR against seven directors of Unitech Group

The case was registered on the directions of the chief judicial magistrate (CJM) of Gautam Budh Nagar on April 26. The CJM received an application under Section 156 (3) of CrPC from complainant Vivek Srivastav, a corporate lawyer who runs his office in Sector 12.

Police registered a case against seven directors of Unitech Group for allegedly cheating a homebuyer in Unihomes-3, located in Sector 113.

The case was registered on the directions of the chief judicial magistrate (CJM) of Gautam Budh Nagar on April 26. The CJM received an application under Section 156 (3) of CrPC from complainant Vivek Srivastav, a corporate lawyer who runs his office in Sector 12.

The complainant had stated that he had booked a flat at Unihomes-3 in April 2012 and was scheduled to get possession in 2015 but there is no sign of construction at the site.

Srivastav had also mentioned he paid 60% of the flat cost to the builder and approached the directors many a time to take a final note on the completion.

The Sector 39 police registered a case on May 4 against Ramesh Chandra, Sanjay Chandra, Ajay Chandra, Monty Bahri, Sunil Rekhi, Chanderkant Jain and Virender Kumar Bhutani, the directors. “We have registered a case against them on the directions of CJM. We will get in touch with the directors who have been named in the FIR,” said Rakesh Kumar, SHO, Sector 39 police station.

A case has been registered under sections 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property), 406 (punishment for criminal breach of trust) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of IPC.

Officials of Unitech Group could not be reached.
