Noida: Skytech homebuyers voice ire against builder at meet
Homebuyers claimed the builder was adamant that they get their registries executed by their deed writer and not one of their choicenoida Updated: May 24, 2017 22:38 IST
Homebuyers of Skytech Matrott housing society, located in Sector 76, shared their grievances at a tripartite meeting organized at Indira Gandhi Kala Kendra in Sector 6 on Monday.
One of the homebuyers started crying while narrating his ordeal. “Skytech construction private limited has been harassing me for the past many months and not letting me execute my registry. After I insisted on getting my registry executed, he sent some goons to my flat. They threatened me with dire consequences. The builder has used construction materials of inferior quality and violated the sanctioned layout map,” Gurpreet Singh, a homebuyer, said.
There are seven major problems faced by the homebuyers in this housing society.
The issues dogging homebuyers include their inability get their registries executed; the builder insisting on a deed writer to write all registries; delay in allotment of flat-specific parking, builders not obtaining Ganga water and sewer connection; builder not putting a fire safety mechanism in place, inadequate electricity load, poor construction quality and the builders’ refusal to transfer maintenance to apartment owners’ association.
“The builder is pressurising us to get the registries executed by a deed writer hired by him. We do not want to get our registries executed by the deed writer, as he charges ₹40,000 for each registry. We can easily get a deed writer who will charge ₹10,000 for the job. The builder has also violated the sanctioned layout. As a result, we are facing many civic issues,” Deepak Dhasmana, a homebuyer, said.
Homebuyers alleged that the builder has used poor quality construction material. As a result, plaster from the ceiling keeps coming off.
The builder had in 2010 launched the project with 716 housing units with a promise to deliver all apartments by 2013. Around 500 families have, till date, taken up residence at the society.
“The builder will have to allow all buyers to get registries done by deed writers of their choice. Also, the authority will ensure that Gurpreet Singh’s registry gets executed soon. All issues of homebuyers will have to be addressed at the earliest,” Saumya Srivastava, deputy chief executive officer of the Noida authority, said.
Skytech construction private limited director Mayank Chawla denied all allegations levelled by homebuyers.
“All allegations of homebuyers are false. It is legal obligation for us to get all registries executed by our deed writer. Now, we will follow instructions of the Noida authority with regard to registration of flats. I will give a written undertaking to the Noida authority once we have addressed all issues raised at the meeting,” said Chawla.
