“We still don’t know the motive behind the murder. According to the post-mortem report, the victim was attacked with an axe and a gun. Seven major wounds were found on his body, including a gunshot. The body was later handed over to his parents,” said Dinesh Yadav, superintendent of police (SP), Noida.

He added that the victim and his roommates had a party at a restaurant in Hauz Khas on the day of the murder, before returning to their flat in Noida.

Police said that no CCTV cameras were found installed in the society. However, they corroborated the statements of the deceased’s friends with those of the eyewitnesses and found that the two suspects had indeed entered the society.

The victim’s friends had told the police that they had heard him screaming ‘Aman don’t kill me’ and also heard two gun shots later. They also claimed to have seen two people fleeing the spot.

According to the police, the victim, who hailed from Nalgonda district in Telangana, died of major injuries over his head that were inflicted with an axe.
