Two days after a software engineer was shot dead in daylight, the city police on Tuesday released sketches of the two attackers and declared a reward of Rs 1 lakh for information leading to the arrest of the two accused. Police said the name and identification of the persons who approach them with information about the suspects will not be disclosed.
Sachin Sangwan, 30, a senior engineer with a leading IT firm, was shot dead at the busy Sector 33 crossing on Sunday. His brother Guarav was also injured in the incident. Two bike-borne assailants had fired multiple rounds on Sachin’s car when he was returning to his rented accommodation in Greater Noida. Sachin was shot twice and died on the spot while Tarun survived with a bullet injury to his abdomen.
“The way the attackers intercepted and shot the duo, it indicates the involvement of a professional shooter. The attackers were sure about whom they wanted to kill and they shot precisely at Sachin,” a senior police officer had said.
“Three police teams are coordinating with their counterparts in Haryana, Delhi and other cities of Uttar Pradesh. These sketches have been circulated to neighbouring states and cities as well. We are seeking cooperation of the public to nab the suspects,” a senior police officer said.
