It is déjà vu once again for Noida as CM Akhilesh Yadav has apparently thought it wise to go by the ‘vaastu’ book and avoid visiting the city — for the fourth time in a row. Yadav will inaugurate Nasscom’s Noida headquarters from Delhi on Friday.

“All senior officials from Noida, including chairman of the three authorities Rama Raman, will join the chief minister at the event in Delhi,” said a Noida authority official.

The young chief minister’s hide-and-seek with Noida started in August last year when he chose to avoid visiting the city and inaugurated the 165-km Yamuna expressway from Lucknow via a video conference.

On April 2, the chief minister inaugurated big-ticket development projects worth Rs 3,300 crore in Noida through a remote control from his Lucknow bungalow.

According to sources, Yadav junior heeded the advice of local Samajwadi Party leaders and kept away from the city.

Yadav even stayed away from Noida while it hosted the prestigious Asian Development Bank (ADB) meet in May.
