Treat commuters properly, operator tells DND attendants

To improve customer services and make travelling through Delhi Noida Delhi Flyway more convenient, Noida Toll Bridge Company Limited (NTBCL) has installed 33 sound-embedded cameras in all 32 lanes.

NTBCL, which operates the toll plaza, said the cameras were installed three days ago following complaints from commuters about bad behavior of attendants. The step, it said, will help address the grievances of the commuters.

The operator said the toll attendants have been instructed to greet commuters properly and behave with them in a proper manner.

“The cameras will record every conversation between commuters and toll attendants and it will be monitored by executives in office. Action will be initiated against the toll attendants found guilty. Our aim is to give commuters good service at our toll booths,” said an NTBCL spokesperson.

Nearly 1.10 lakh commuters cross the two tolls every day and many pay cash at the counters. These people often get into arguments with attendants.

On June 15, NTBCL introduced radio frequency identification (RFID) facility to make commuting hassle-free through the two flyways.

The RFID technology gives commuters the option of nonstop travel.

“With an aim to reduce the waiting time and encourage people to shift from cash to non-cash mode, we started gold lanes. We then introduced silver lanes and RFID. We are planning to start the service of making payment through credit cards,” said the spokesperson.
