Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah promised Noida youth quality education, lucrative jobs, free laptops and an internet connection. He said that the welfare of youth is among the top priorities of the party.

“Akhilesh Yadav had won the elections last time by making false promises to the youth. He had promised free laptops to the youngsters. I ask the youth of Noida — where are these? You will never get it from this government and only we can ensure that post-March 11 when BJP will storm into power, every youth in this state will get free laptop along with free 1 GB internet (data),” said Shah.

Shah was in the city to campaign for BJP candidate Pankaj Singh ahead of elections in Gautam Budh Nagar on February 11. “Noida is worst affected due to the misrule of both Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party in the last 10 years. We will ensure that the residents of Noida get their due,” Shah said.

He criticised the ruling Samajwadi Party for their alleged failure in curbing unemployment across the state. Shah announced that if voted to power, there will be no interview for appointments of grade III and IV employees in Uttar Pradesh Service Commission.

“You had come in power to solve the unemployment crisis and in the last five years, unemployment has only increased. When BJP comes to power, there will be no interviews for appointment of grade III and IV employees of Uttar Pradesh Service Commission. Whosoever scores higher will be automatically selected,” Shah said.

In an attempt to woo the young voters of Noida, BJP president also announced setting up of new medical and engineering colleges, polytechnics and promised employment to 70 lakh young people across the state.

“In two-and-a-half years, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has provided employment to 8 crore youth across the country. When BJP comes into power, we will set up 25 new medical and 80 engineering colleges and polytechnics. We will also provide employment to 70 lakh youth of UP,” Shah said.
