Uttar Pradesh police would deploy ten companies of its Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) to keep vigil during the Delhi Assembly elections.
The office of the Director General of Police (DGP) has issued an order to maintain a vigil on the UP borders neighbouring the February 7 poll-bound Delhi, IG (Law and Order) A Satish Gannesh said.
"Ten companies of PAC will be sent to Delhi for assembly elections," the Inspector General said.
DGP Arvind Kumar has specifically directed officers in Ghaziabad, Noida and Greater Noida to keep special vigil in the National Capital Region and to erect barriers and frisk vehicles in the border areas to check passage of money, liquor, weapons or suspected people.
Income Tax teams and those of the Election Commission (EC) are also coordinating with law enforcement agencies on this matter.
