Higher educational institutions in Noida have developed their own pull factors over the years and the increasing preference among students, towards Noida colleges, is simply not because of the Delhi Universityfs increasing cut-offs.
"Noida has so much to offer when it comes to education opportunities. You do not have to compromise on the course you want because of impossible cut-offs," Apoorva Satpathy, who completed her B Tech from a Noida college, said.
Several students said they chose colleges in Noida over other places due to the variety of courses on offer and the proximity to the national capital.
"This year, colleges and universities in Noida and Greater Noida have had a great response. In Galgotia University, seats were filled in the first week of July itself. Many students from Delhi and other cities of Uttar Pradesh have preferred to take admission here without
applying anywhere else," said Dhruv Galgotia, chief executive officer of Galgotia University.
There are more than 220 foreign nationals studying in Amity University alone, which shows that Noida is a popular destination for students around the globe.
Not only do colleges in Noida give students a chance to pursue their desired course but they also offer niche courses in association
with the companies and organisations that other universities and colleges do not offer.
UG and PG in Forensics Sciences at Amity University, Bachelors in Commerce in association with KPMG at Galgotias University, Luxury Brand Management, Professional Diploma Course in Indian Couture at Pearl Academy, are some examples of such courses.
Academics is not the only front in which Noida Universities are picking up. Dance, dramatics, music and other extra-curricular activities
are also proving to be some of the factors.
Annual fests at colleges are successful events, graced by several celebrities. A number of private institutions also issue discount cards to their students to avail discounts at food chains, gymnasiums and health facilities some of which are the Synergy card issued by Amity University and the Impressions discount card issued by JIIT.
Moreoevr, residing in Noida also appeals to a lot of outstation students, as it is close enough to Delhi yet a little aloof from the hustle bustle of the national capital.
