It was a mixed day for India on Day 10 of the Rio Olympics. While athletes like discus thrower Seema Punia and boxer Vikas Krishan continued India’s exodus from the games, ace badminton star PV Sindhu joined Kidambi Shrikanth in the quarterfinals. A look at the two sides of twitter’s reaction.
First of course, comes the good news.
Congratulations to #PVsindhu ☺— tanmay dey sarkar (@iam_tanmay96) August 16, 2016
Then , the bad news. With one user clearly giving up on the entire contingent, summing up his emotions in few words.

And the rest followed.
Better luck next time. #VikasKrishan has made good attempt so far. But he was outsmarted and knocked out by hard hitting Uzeb— ankita verma (@ankitaverma45) August 16, 2016
#VikasKrishan you have done your level best against the Uzbek. Tough fight hard luck.— Suraj Hegde (@SurajMNHegde) August 16, 2016
There are those, however, who are still praising gymnast Dipa Karmakar for her showing at the Games. Believe in silver linings, these ones.
#DipaKarmakar you are the darling of India. We love you for showing braveness.— RBSAKARAM (@Rbsakaram) August 16, 2016
The daughter of India #Dipakarmakar made the entire nation proud of her on Independence Day. Million Kudos— Sachin Aggarwal (@SachinAgg22) August 16, 2016
We are proud of you #DipaKarmakar.— Prasad (@prasadyadav11) August 16, 2016
Ah well, there is still hope. Not over till it’s over.
