Barcelona star Lionel Messi fulfilled his promise to the NBA’s MVP Steph Curry for reaching 10 million followers on social media network Instagram by sending the Golden State Warriors talisman a Barcelona shirt with his name and number 10 emblazoned on the back.
Curry is a long-time admirer of the five-time World Footballer of the Year and sent the Argentine a signed Warriors number 30 shirt when Messi reached 30 million followers back in December.
Hello "Maestro" @stephencurry30, well as I told you, here I’m sending you my jersey with the number 10. It’s an honour that you have my jersey and it’s a pleasure to see you playing. I hope to see you playing for a many more years and I wish you all the success. Big hug! Hola @stephencurry30, como te prometí, acá te mando mi camiseta para celebrar tus 10 millones de seguidores en Instagram. ¡Un abrazo y muchos éxitos!
Curry is set to return to the court on Sunday in game four of Golden State’s first round playoff series against the Houston Rockets -- which the Warriors’ lead 2-1 -- after missing the last two games due to an ankle injury.
He averaged 30.1 points per game and made a record 402 three-pointers to lead the Warriors to a record 73-game win regular season.
