Avoid a short circuit

Pole Position: The racing weekend is three days away. Grandstand seats fill out the fastest and are the most expensive — they’re priced at Rs 21,000 this year. The picnic stands are the cheapest (Rs 3,000), but without seats and a lot of jostling. Also, don’t pick seats at the straights as the cars will whiz by before you can blink. Corners are your best bet and the sharp corner (Star Stand 2 East) at the BIC is perfectly located and has a great view of almost the entire track. Plus, tickets are Rs 7,500.

Perfect stripe: If you plan to drive to the venue, you will need a parking permit to enter the track premises. On your ticket, you can purchase a car or two-wheeler parking permit at the circuit park.

Drive through: In case you do not usually take the metro, invest in a Delhi Metro three-day tourist pass, which will give you an unlimited use of the metro trains, and save you from the traffic. Take the metro out to Noida City Centre and bargain with the fleet of rickshaws to take you to Knowledge Park for your free shuttle.

Food wise: The crowds will throng the food stalls — even when the race is on, so be prepared to wait. A good tip would be to reach early and load up on food and water before the race begins.
