Bach: IOC to set up $10m anti-doping fund

IOC president Thomas Bach says the Olympic body is putting up $10 million to develop new anti-doping tests and methods. Bach says the International Olympic Committee is also asking governments to contribute the same amount to the anti-doping fight.

The new president says the IOC is also setting up a $10-million fund to protect athletes from "any kind of manipulation or related corruption."

The IOC will sign an agreement with Interpol in early 2014 and set up a monitoring system to guard against illegal and irregular betting in the Olympics.

The decisions were announced Saturday following a four-day "brainstorming session" of the IOC executive board in the Swiss resort of Montreux.
