A week after Badminton Association of India president VK Verma was arrested for alleged irregularities during organising of the Commonwealth Games, the first signs of revolt in the sports governing body were evident on Wednesday with the executive committee revoking the suspension of general secretary Dr Vijai Singh.

The executive committee had suspended Sinha last year in August after his tussle with Verma over who should have the executive powers in the association turned ugly.

Verma was arrested by CBI last week and has been sent to 14 days of judicial custody.

The committee also decided to make Akhilesh Das, Member of Parliament from Uttar Pradesh and Hemanta Biswa Sharma, Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of Assam, as the co-chairman to conduct business with the government till elections are held in accordance with the government guidelines sometime in April.
