SAI coach, RS Kundu, who has produced 33 international medallists, sold his Rs 72 lakh urban house in Mohali to buy a bigger piece nearby to make his residential wrestling academy.

Kundu's Gulzar Akhara is now under SAI's adopted akhara scheme. Under it, 20 of his wards get a monthly stipend of Rs 1000 for 10 months in a year. The Punjab sports department has also given him 14 seats. The wards get a diet allowance of Rs 3600 p m.

Kundu has chalked out a long-term plan. Under it, he is eyeing four medals at the 2014 Asian and Commonwealth Games, a World Championship medal in 2015 before culminating with an Olympic medal at the 2016 Rio Games.
