The seventh round of the inaugural AAI Grandmasters Chess Tournament was all about avenging losses as both Welsey So of the Philippines and China's Hou Yifan beat Czech Viktor Laznicka and India's Parimarjan Negi, respectively, on Wednesday.

So beat Laznicka in 31 moves while women's world champion Yifan took 62 moves for her win over Negi. Sasikiran's draw brought him to four points along with So and Laznicka, while Fabiano Caruana remains the only unbeaten player in the tournament with 5.5 points. The Italian has now stretched his lead to 1.5 points with three rounds to go.

Meanwhile, Negi continued to be out of form. The national champion, who won his second round against Yifan and then drew against So in the third round, has now lost four games in a row and five in seven rounds.
