In the semifinal of the Indian Polo Championship on Friday, Cavalry USPA trounced JPC 12-3, with Major Vishal Chauhan scoring four goals.

In the second game, APRC narrowly lost to Jindal Carysil, despite a fightback from Adhiraj Singh's team. “It all changed in one chakkar, they scored four goals quickly and it hinged there,” said Singh. Despite Navjit Sandhu's six goals, including two spectacular lofted penalties, the speed of Jindal Carysil's horses was too much. On Saturday at 3.00 pm, APRC will play JPC in the third-place playoff.

CRPF, Govt School move into semifinals
CRPF Rohini moved into the semifinals of the Mahindra Youth Challenge on Friday by beating Heritage School, Rohini 4-0. Mukesh scored the third hattrick of the tournament. In the other match, Govt School Sec-11, Rohini beat NK Bagrodia, Rohini 5-3 in a tie-break.

Town high school, BGSU advance
Town High School Sundergarh, Orissa beat NCC Directorate B 2-1 in Nehru Junior Hockey tournament, while BGSU, Taran tied 1-1 with Mehta Gurukul School, Doraha. In the other matches, G.G.S. Sports College, Lucknow thumped Indira Priyadarshini School, Shahjahanbad 6-0, and St. Mary's High School, Jharkhand won 2-1 against State School of Sports, Jalandhar.

Dixit wins in squash
Ravi Dixit from Tamil Nadu's Annamalai University beat Abhinav Sinha of Pune University 11-6, 11-5, 11-4 in the final of the Punj Lloyd All India Inter University Squash League 2010 here.
