Chowrasia and Jeev make cut in Abu Dhabi

Struggling Indian golfer SSP Chowrasia (72) sank a birdie on his closing hole of the second round to make the cut at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championships. Chowrasia finished the second round with a card of even par 72 and was two-over for 36 holes and finished right on the cut line at tied 59th. Jeev hit a birdie on fourth to recover and is now one-over in tied 48th place.

Sasikiran, Gopal in joint lead
Gibraltar: GM Krishnan Sasikiran and GN Gopal joined the leading group after winning the fourth round of the Tradewise Gibraltar chess congress. Sasikiran was lucky to pull through against Anna Muzychuk of Slovenia, while Gopal defeated much higher ranked Parligras Mircea-Emilian of Romania.
