SSP Chowrasia fired a three-under 69 to continue his reign at the top of the leaderboard after the second round of the Solaris Chemtech Open Golf Championship on Thursday.
The overnight leader's overall score stands at eight-under 136, two shots ahead of veteran Vijay Kumar (68).
However, the day belonged to teenage amateur Rashid Khan, who returned the day's best card, a sensational six-under 66. The brilliant performance took his total to four-over 148 and propelled him to the tied 35th spot.
Rashid, who carded an 82 in the first round, sank birdies on the 10th, 14th, 16th, first, second, third and seventh. His lone bogey came on the eighth.
Chowrasia teed-off from the 10th on a cold and windy morning at the Golden Greens Golf Course. He was five-under after 14 holes as he made four birdies on the trot from the second to the fifth after having made a birdie previously on the 14th. Then two bogeys on the sixth and eighth brought him back to three under.
Vijay's round, meanwhile, was punctuated by birdies on the 17th, 18th, first, second and ninth and a lone bogey on the 15th.
Rahil Gangjee (69) is tied 12th at one under 143 while Ashok Kumar (72) is tied 20th at 145.
Gaurav Ghei (77, 71) ended the day in tied 35th at four over 148.
