Chowrasia slips after a strong start

After a sensational start in the Trophee Hassan II, which saw him fire a six-under 67 to be placed second, SSP Chowrasia came up with a conventional even-par round at the tough par 73 Red Course on the Royal Dar Es Salaam and slipped 18 spots to be placed T20 after the second round on Friday.

The other Indian in the fray, Shiv Kapur, who was overnight T8, came up with an effort similar to Chowrasia’s and was placed joint 26th.

At the top of the leaderboard, Welshman Rhys Davies worked his way to the top with an eight-under to be overall 13-under and stroke ahead of France’s Thomas Levet.
