Deepika Kumari reigned supreme with seven medals, while veteran Dola Banerjee marked her return to form, picking six medals in the Sahara senior National Championship that concluded here on Monday.

Representing SPSB, Deepika won two gold (70m, Olympic round), three silver (50m, 60m and team) and two bronze (30m and mixed pair) in the women's recurve section. Two-time Olym-pian Dola came back from a long injury lay-off to pick two gold (50m, team), two silver (mixed pair, olympic) and two bronze medals (60m, 70m).

In the men's section, Railways archer Kapil had an impressive outing winning the individual Olympic round.

Bagan appeal

Kolkata: Mohun Bagan on Monday appealed to the All India Football Federation (AIFF) to review the ban on them even as East Bengal congratulated the federation for being firm. On the same day, the AIFF issued a show-cause notice on Mohun Bagan skipper Okolie Odafa asking why further action shouldn’t be taken against him for his behaviour that led to a red card and sparked crowd trouble.
