Former national coach and World Billiards runner-up Subhash Agarwal has been selected for the prestigious Dronacharya Award.

62-year-old Agarwal, a three-time national Billiards champion and a runner-up in World Billiards, is only the third player from the game to be chosen for the award.

Michael Ferraira and Arvind Savur got the honour in 2001 and 2004 respectively.
Agarwal was also awarded the Arjuna Award in 1984.
After retiring in late 90's, Agarwal groome young cueists. Sports Authority of India appointed him as national coach for Cue Sports in the year 2006 for four years.
He is the brother of the late World Snooker Champion Om Agarwal, and a protegé of Anglo-Indian champion Wilson Jones.
