Percept India Limited and Monnet Ispat & Energy Limited on Friday announced a joint venture to promote and popularise boxing.

Under this venture, India will witness first ever home grown indoor boxing bouts called ‘Fight Night - Lagaan Cup'. Top Indian and English boxers will fight for this Cup.

The first series will start in Hyderabad on September 12. It will followed by another one in Pune on September 14.

The Indian Boxing Federation will also be involved in organising this event.

The company will promote bilateral boxing tournaments between India and other countries as well as host of events across malls, public areas and road shows.

A Fight Night has been formatted as a 90-minute event with four exhibition boxing matches (3 rounds) between amateur boxers interspersed with entertainment performances. Monnet Ispat had also signed a deal of $1 million with the Federation to become a team and kit sponsor for the next three years.
