In a bid to speed up the pace of work for Commonwealth Games, Sports Minister M S Gill and Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Tuesday met Union Urban Development Minister S Jaipal Reddy.

An official said that the two Union Ministers and Dikshit discussed various aspects and projects related to the international sporting event and reviewed the progress of each of them.

Dikshit was accompanied by Chief Secretary Rakesh Mehta and other officials of Delhi government. "This was a regular meeting regarding the Commonwealth Games," Gill told reporters.

He refused to divulge what transpired in the meeting earlier in the day, which he along with Dikshit had with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

"I had gone to the meeting. Sheila Dikshit was there. We discussed matters of common interest," he said, adding, "I am the Sports Minister. We discussed sports with him", Gill said.

Asked about Commonwealth Games Federation chief Mike Fennel's letter about the lack of preparedness for the Games, Gill said that he only desired to meet the Prime Minister on the issue (lack of preparedness for the Games).

"He is coming...I will meet him and discuss it," Gill said, adding that he would convey it (details of discussion with Fennel) to the PM.
