The Goa Swimming Association (GSA), under the aegis of the Swimming Federation of India, will host the 26th sub-junior National Aquatic championships at Campal Swimming Pool Complex from May 26, organisers said on Saturday.
The five-day event consists of Diving and Swimming in the age group of 13 and below. Swimmers and divers from all over the country will be participating in the same, they said.
"A total of 26 units including Services and NSA will be participating with a total strength of about 550 participants," GSA vice-president Vinay Borkar said at a media conference in Panaji.
"Swimmers from Goa are expected to get a boost from this meet as they will be participating with the best talent in India. Goa will have a strength of 29 Swimmers and Divers," he said.
Borkar named Sushmeeta Vasta, Samir Noronha, Judith Saldanha and Genevive D'Costa as Goa's medal prospects in Diving, and said that Akash Fulkar and Rajat would be the favorites in swimming.
