Registering over 3000 votes as of writing, a poll on the site of UK newspaper The Guardian had nearly 58% of people saying the Games should be cancelled.

The key word in international media seems to be ‘chaos’, and have not been forgiving of the current state of readiness of the Indian capital. Canada's Globe and Mail writer Stephen Brunt opened his piece with "It certainly sounds like a fiasco". Pointing out that the criticism is coming from people who have an interest in these games proceeding, and weary to criticise an event which could have given them a world audience, Brunt does not paint a pretty picture, while acknowledging that all such events, including the winter Olympics in Canada, are plagued by these problems, though perhaps not Dengue.

At least Australian athletes are keen, with swimmer Geoff Huegill and hurdler Hayley Butler both saying they are keen to arrive in the capita according to The Australian and Sydney Morning Herald.
