Faced with the threat from the IOC to take action if it does not explain sacked CWG Organising Committee chief Suresh Kalmadi’s status in the court cases, the IOA on Monday decided to call a meeting of its executives board to discuss the issue.

IOA acting president Vijay Kumar Malhotra said in a statement that the meeting will be held at the earliest and its decision will be conveyed to the IOC.

The IOC had threatened to refer the case to its Ethics Commission at any moment, should the action taken by the National Olympic Committee does not have a satisfactory implication.

Malhotra knew of suspension: Anand
The war took a new turn with its senior functionary R K Anand claiming that the ‘suspension’ of Kalmadi was known to the apex body’s top brass but was deliberately kept under wraps, a claim which was rejected by the rival faction.
