The second edition of the Thomas Cook Indian Golf League will tee-off at the Golden Greens Golf & Country Club on December 10. The 12-week tournament, which will see 14 competitive rounds being played at four other partner courses (Classic Golf Resort, Jaypee Greens, Tarudhan Valley and an unconfirmed venue in Mumbai), is open to anyone willing to wield the club.
Participation will cost Rs 1200, which is inclusive of green and caddy fees. Some golfers will be invited to play free of cost and it is in this novel approach that lies the USP of the competition --- the exposure to play at a host of courses with like-minded enthusiasts.
There be will be a gross system of points for amateurs while the other competitors will be graded under the stableford system. Five leading scorers --- picked from the two best stableford scores on double peoria handicap, two best scores on 3/4th of original handicap and the best gross stableford score --- from each day will qualify for the finale, which will be concluding round on Feb 18.
