Second-seeded Karan Rastogi made it to the semifinals of the Noida F4 Futures on Thursday. Rastogi took more than two-and-a-half hours to overcome the challenge of sixth-seeded Belgian Julien Dubail, 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 (2).
Rastogi will take on friend and compatriot, Vishnu Vardhan in the last-four stage of the $10000 event. The third-seeded Vardhan beat Hsin-Han Lee of Taipei 4-6, 6-1, 6-2.
“We, Vishnu and I, are good friends but when on court, we become rivals,” stated Rastogi on Friday’s semis line up. “I began well but lost momentum midway,” he added.
However, it was the end of the road for Vijayant Malik and VM Ranjeet. They bowed out in the quarterfinals to top seeded Danai Udomchoke of Thailand and fourth seed Young-Jun Kim of Korea, respectively.
