A 12 member Rugby India team, led by Avani Sabade, will leave on Wednesday for the Asian Women's 7s tournament in Guangzhou, China.
The tournament July 24 25 is a test event for the Asian Games in November.
"The team is confident of playing well and doing the country proud. We have gone through practice sessions at Balewadi stadium and are set to give a tough challenge to the opponents," Sabade said.
They will be accompanied by coach Usaia Buimuiwai, manager Leena Bal and physio Jyoti Purohit.
Apart from India, thirteen other international teams will compete in the tournament including China, Thailand, Philippines, Japan, Hong Kong, and Singapore.
