Bantamweight boxer Joseph Ham of Scotland was given oxygen and treated by doctors for concussion after his 14-11 loss to Sakaria Lukas of Namibia in a Commonwealth Games quarterfinal.
Ham received a flurry of punches from his opponent toward the end of the 56-kilogram contest and collapsed after leaving the ring here on Saturday.
He was treated for about 10 minutes by team medical staff near the ring, after speaking briefly with the media.
"After being given oxygen, he was taken to the medical room here. There does not seem to be any complication, but he will be kept under observation for some time," said an organizing committee official who asked not to be named because he was not authorized to speak to the media.
