Shagun Chowdhary fired the score of 69 to create a new national record in women's trap event at the Indian Masters Shooting Championship held in memory of Sardar Sajjan Singh Sethi here on Wednesday.

Shagun, who tallied a record score of 69 out of 75 in the qualifying rounds, aggregated 86 (69+17) to win the top honours at the New Moti Bagh Gun Club (NMBGC) shooting range here.

Among the juniors (women), Shreyasi Singh emerged the winner with the score of 64 (49+15) points.

Prominent among those who would take part in the championship include double trap shooter Lt Col Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, India's first individual silver medal winner in the 2004 Summer Olympics.
