Sharmila, Saaniya in lead

Joint leaders Sharmila Nicollet and Saaniya Sharma gave away a triple bogey each but still managed to hold a share of the lead in the eighth leg of the Hero Women’s Professional Golf Tour in Panchkula on Monday.

Sharmila gave away a triple bogey on the 10th, while Saaniya dropped a triple on the 18th at the Panchkula Golf Club.

Sharmila, who took over the lead in the Hero Women’s Order of Merit with her win last week, is looking for a third win on the trot.

Record field for Albatross event

New Delhi: Teams from China, Indonesia, Japan, South Africa, Sweden, Thailand, United Arab Emirates and the US will be

part of a record 170-strong field when the Albatross International JGCI, co-sanctioned by the Hank Haney International Junior Golf Academy (IJGA), tees off at the Classic Golf Resort in Mewat (Haryana) from November 22-25.

For the first time, the event will carry R&A World Amateur Golf Ranking points, which will provide further incentive for the participants.
