Six teams in contention for top places

other Updated: Jun 08, 2011 00:19 IST

An exciting finish is on the cards with all six teams tied on four points and final round robin matches to be played Wednesday in the second leg of the Indian Premier Volleyball League here.

Spotting the winner and runners-up could be a statistician's delight as the winners of remaining three league matches would be on equal terms Wednesday.

The top-two finishers in each leg would collect rich prize money and points.

Maratha Warriors and Chennai Spikers had finished winners and runners-up respectively in the first leg in Bangalore last month.

The other four teams to have accrued four points each in the second leg are - Yanam Tigers, Hyderabad Chargers, Kerala Killers and Karnataka Bulls.

In the penultimate round Tuesday, Chennai Spikers at last brought some cheers to their home supporters as they won a see-saw battle against Kerala Killers 25-23 25-27 25-21 16-25 17-15.
